Change Comes to Logomancy
July 5th, 2024
Good day, and happy July to all our amazing people. Whether you’re a reliable watcher, a fellow creator, or one of our players, we wanted to start by saying thank you so much for all the time you spend with us. Its through the awesome interactions with all of you that any of this can happen.
Upcoming Changes
One of the elements that was critical for us as a content collective, is a change to the way we think about our content going forward. And with those changes, we wanted to make sure that we kept all the folks who are most impacted by this up to date with what is happening, and what that means for the people that work with us. But first thing is first, we aren’t going anywhere. All the D&D and TTRPG content we create will continue on, we love making all that content for you! However, as we grow and develop, we are making some changes to us as a brand and as a company that will better reflect who we are, and our dreams for the future.
What’s Changing?
As I mentioned above, our TTRPG content isn’t going anywhere. Monday nights will still be the best place to see new and classic games systems played out over small arcs, with your favourite content creators. Wednesday nights will be returning around August 7th, with Season 2 of Frontier Adventures. However, there are some branding changes that have occurred - namely we have changed our name across platforms. You’ll no longer see us listed as “Legends of Logomancy” and instead listed as “Logomancy Media”. This change reflects us better and showcases some of the goals we have for the future of our platform and our content.
The changes to what kind of offerings we show isn’t going to impact our current content. The big change will come in the form of the offering a slightly more diverse selection. Much of it will be related back to TTRPG content, however it will allow us to expand the types of content a little out from there. We have some cool shows planned (that we can’t quite share yet) that are going to be entering pre-production phases. To better align with those changes, we are going to be focusing on broadening our reach a little. You might seem some content that is somewhat related but slightly different, or depending, content that feels very different from what we normally do. We want a chance to be able to spread our creative wings and try some new things.
An Important Phrase
You’ll have noticed that I used a specific phrase up at the beginning. “Content Collective.” This is an important part of who we at Logomancy have always considered ourselves to be. The shows we make are reliant on amazing people wanting to make content with us. Whether that is on our Actual Plays, or as part of the shorts content I released a while back. All of that is done through collective cooperation. This means that we are here to support the creators we work with and give them a platform to find what they love. It also means we work with a ton of creators to develop content. The cornerstone of how we work has always been an equal share of the pie, I know, how socialist utopia of us. But the key to that is that the work put in by the creators always is to benefit those creators - never a faceless company.
With the change to the way we are branding ourselves, it removes a key pigeonhole we have been stuck in and allows us to begin expanding the way we think about our content. It also means that if you, the amazing community around us, want a platform to try and produce something on we can more actively support you. We want to help you launch shows and content and want to help you grow. The renaming of our platform gives us the tools to ensure we can do that. Further, we have been able to acquire actual tools for use by the people in our circles to create content. From microphones to cameras and some other cool pieces coming down the pipeline here shortly, we will have the systems in place to help support people if they want to grow. And with our model for sharing in revenue that comes in on that content, we have a chance to help people see success from those pieces of content. Those in the Calgary area are going to probably benefit the most directly, but in the future, there are always chances to expand upon that.
That’s what it means to be a collective. And you’re all our collective.
(Resistance is futile - I had to get a Borg joke in here somewhere.)
There will be more changes here soon. Once we finalize some of our new shows, we’ll be reaching out to all your around us who might want to be involved. We also plan to do a night soon where one of these shows gets shot with some input in the discord from all of you. Until then though, keep an eye on our channels, keep coming out and being awesome in the streams, and if you want to jump into the games sign up to be a player! We cannot wait to do more with all of you soon.
